Bruckhaus-Prize

The Hanns Martin Schleyer-Foundation awarded me the Friedwart Bruckhaus-Prize 2020/21 for my paper on sorting into the teacher profession across the business cycle last week. You can find out more about the prize and the award ceremony here: https://schleyer-stiftung.de/2021-14-dezember-muenchen-bp/

In the paper, we show that, consistent with a Roy model of occupational choice, teachers entering the profession during recessions in Florida are significantly more effective in raising student test scores.
